Food Safety (BRC)
Alland & Robert is audited every year to renew its BRC certification (latest version), a leading international safety and quality certification.
BRC requirements guarantee that quality, safety and operational criteria have been standardised to ensure manufacturers meet their legal obligations and protect end users.
Alland & Robert’s BRC certification means we have established good manufacturing practices to produce safe products. And that clients and end customers can have confidence in our food safety programme and supply chain management.
Commitments to people
Alland & Robert has been awarded a Gold medal by the EcoVadis ESG-rating platform. This score places us among the top 5% of over 100,000 companies rated by the platform. Created to assess CSR performance, the EcoVadis rating is based on 21 criteria across environment, social and human rights, ethics and responsible purchasing.
Alland & Robert is part of the Carbon Disclosure Project, a non-profit that runs a global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to measure and manage their environmental impacts. Alland & Robert has been a member of the SEDEX since 2009. SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) is a non-profit membership organisation dedicated to driving improvements in responsible and ethical business practices in global supply chains. Alland & Robert received SEDEX certification through the high standard referential called SMETA (SEDEX member ethical trade audit). SMETA helps companies understand and evaluate their standards in relation to working conditions, environmental performance, health & safety and ethics.
Since 2023, Alland & Robert has been certified Fair for Life, a label that promotes Fair Trade. The standards are designed to establish and assure people-centred, ethical, and responsible commercial partnerships over the long term within supply chains.
Certifying our products
Alland & Robert has developed a range of certified organic grades. The suppliers who deliver organic raw materials are certified by accredited organisms, ensuring full traceability.
Acacia gum is certified FODMAP-friendly, meaning it ican be incorporated in formulations designed for consumers with symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), or following a Low FODMAP diet.
Alland & Robert’s acacia and karaya gums are certified both halal and kosher. As an international company selling products in more than 70 countries, we strive to adapt to the specificities of each market and meet customer expectations, including religious ones.
Alland & Robert products have been “Non-GMO Project Verified” by the Non-GMO Project. So far, 13 acacia gum products, all karaya gum and our Syndeoâ range have been verified.
Alland & Robert has been Fair for Life certified for all qualities of seyal and senegal acacia gum. Products displaying the Fair for Life label are guaranteed to have been grown and processed according to environmentally friendly processes by farmers who are fairly paid within a transparent and traceable supply chain
To meet standards in the cosmetics and personal care industry, our acacia and sterculia (karaya) gums are COSMOS-certified. COSMOS certification guarantees that production and processing methods respect the environment and human health, promote green chemistry, and that natural resources have been used responsibly, biodiversity has been respected, no petrochemical ingredients or GMO have been used, and packaging is recyclable.
Quality system certification
Alland & Robert is ISO 9001 (V2015) certified. ISO 9001, V2015, is a quality management systems standards designed to help organizations ensure that they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders while meeting statutory and regulatory requirements related to a product.
HACCP method
Alland & Robert applies the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) method.
This systematic preventive approach to food safety covers biological, chemical and physical hazards in production processes that could cause finished products to be unsafe.
Pharmaceutic safety
Alland & Robert works with the ANSM (Agence nationale de sécurité du medicament or French National Agency for Medicine Safety) and is regularly inspected to ensure full compliance.
Compliance with the ANSM is mandatory for companies supplying ingredients in the pharmaceutical industry. Alland & Robert supplies both excipients and active ingredients to pharmaceutical companies.
